Item Vin662 Description:   Circa 1985, Salvador Dali, Figural, Nose & Lips perfume and brooch set.
Clear & Frosted Glass, Atomizer, Commercial Perfume / Scent Bottle.
In the 1940's & 1950's the artist Salvador Dali created perfumes for
Schiaparelli and Marquay. Salvador Dali perfumes were launched in 1985.
The Surrealist nose and lips design was taken from a painting by Dali of
the Goddess Aphrodite. This figural perfume bottle is a collectors
item because of the name and presentation not for its scent! However,
Dali is said to have chosen the scent himself: rose in celebration of his
wife Gala’s rose garden and jasmine because he liked to wear a sprig behind
his ear and he believed the plant to be a hallucinogen.
This fantastic scent bottle is molded in the shape of a nose and lips.
The frosted nose is removed and underneath is the atomizer.
The molded, clear and frosted glass, lower lip is artist signed: Dali.
Molded on base of bottle: S. Dali Ray Int * 50 ml * 166 fl oz * Paris.
Perfume measuring approximately 4 inches in height. Ninety percent
of the original perfume remains in the bottle. The scent is absolutely divine!
This sensational perfume would make a great gift for the
commercial perfume collector. This item has all the original packaging.
