Vin567 Description ...Rare, Stunning and Magnificent Vintage Designer Signed Christian Dior Necklace and Earrings Demi Parure. The Sparkling Prong set light and dark topaz marquise stones are set with alternate sized faux baroque pearls and accentuated with pate de verre mottled brown glass stones consisting of various shapes to depict a beautiful autumn necklace and earring demi parure. The necklace measures 17 inches and the middle section measure a generous 3 inches in length. The design is followed through including the neck chain and clasp.

The matching clip earrings are prong set with pate de verre mottled brown glass stones and also feature round and marquise clear Swarovski sparkling crystals with one light brown topaz stone in the middle section, from what I can see depicting a lovely flower design. They measure 1 inch round.

The Signature Markings are:- The earrings have an oval plate with Christian Dior stamped on and 19 above it and 60 below it, necklace has the same oval plate with Chr.Dior with 19 above and 61 below

The set is presented in its original bijoux Christian dior jewellery box and satin cushion. The necklace also has the original hang tag.

On my findings for this beautiful Demi I decided this is a tailor made piece as I have never seen a design as detailed as this one before and assumed the owner may of decided to add more marquise stones to the other side to give balance and perspective to the necklace, I have ringed the areas on the above pictures, if you notice there are a couple of extra marquises added to the other segment, I am sure being an artist and I know Christian Dior was an Art Dealer and loved Art, I concluded it gave the necklace more perspective and interest and to give a different appearance to each segment.

I am sure it was a change of heart in the design. However, another factor could be the designer may of forgot to add the marquise or simply the wire tendril has broken off, I did not agree to the tendril being broken off as Christian Dior jewelry is so well made and it would take a lot to break.

I am assuming due to the necklace having the original tag and everything else in tact this is a one off tailor made piece and sometimes the owner decides he or she did not like too many stones on that side, it does happen :) I have not come across such an intriguing and ornate design before.

As from the year 2008 The Demi is 48 years old, all handmade, it is very rare to find the original tag, box and cushion and also to find such an extraordinary busy Christian Dior design.

I have recently been doing more research on Christian Dior and his designers and found in my Judith Miller Book a brooch of the same age, faux baroque pearl and crystals which could be a nice match to the set valued at US Dollars 650.00!
