This is a rare perfume bottle "SNUFF" by surrealist fashion designer Elsa Schiaparelli, from 1940. Snuff was a perfume created for men, Schiaparelli's pipe bottle design was inspired by the French surrealist artist Rene Magritte who had painted a pipe in 1929. The glass pipe bottle measures 5.5 inches long with no chips or cracks. The box is cardboard and measures 7 inches x 4 inches x 2 inches and is designed as a cigar box. The box is complete with the interior packing, but there is acid foxing to some of the paper liner and tape holding the hinge of the box.
