Description: Rare and unique CARTIER Gold Pendant. This pendant will look stunning on a gold chain or I have supplied a nice silk cord to show you how beautiful it looks. The pendant resembles a postage stamp in size and shape and scallop edging. This is a curiosity because it is dated 1776 - 1976 all letters are in black. I tend to think it was created for the American Bicentennial in 1976 or it could have been made as a special award pendant for a Cartier Employee or Representative. The reverse is all shiny gold with a ring for a chain or cord to pass through. The bottom of this pendant clearly states Cartier (in the distinctive Cartier script) numbers 17382 and 18K. Also it has been tested on an electronic gold tester. There are slight surface scratches and you can use your imagination on how to wear this signed Cartier unique collectible. Measurements are 1 inch high x 0.75 across, weighs 6.7 grams.

On my research the Significance of the date 1776-1976 might refer to Alain Dominique.

Born on 10th October 1942 at Nantes (France), Alain Dominique Perrin is a graduate of Ecole des Cadres (EDC).

In 1969, after having been, notably, an antique dealer, he joined the Cartier Lighter Company as Commercial Attache, before becoming Managing Director a year later.

In 1976 he was named CEO of "Must de Cartier"
