Michael Delon knew Salvador Dali throughout the 1970s, when he first began his professional journalism career.
He did many interviews during that time period and also photographed Dalí at the celebrated Plaza Hotel in New York.
During his last interview with Dalí, which was for Oui magazine (then owned by Hugh Hefner of Playboy Publications),
Dalí gave him this print which he signed for him. Please see pictures below.
The interview was later published in the November 1978 issue of Oui magazine. You can see Michael pictured with Dalí,
celebrating the publication of one of his earlier interviews for Nite Life magazine at the St. Regis Hotel in New York.
Over the years Michael Delon has gone on to interview several US Presidents, Nobel Prize Laureates, movie stars,
sports figures, etc., but Salvador Dalí was certainly his most usual person he ever interviewed.
Michael's interviews have appeared in such well-known publications as USA TODAY, The Times, MD magazine,
Success magazine, and also in the British Film Journal in London.
Movie directors Milos Forman and Otto Preminger appeared in a documentary in his journalism career.
